signal tester?

can you buy a llittle box that will show me a dtt signal strength? I'm trying to sort out my aerial for my mac dtt tuner but not having any joy. Always had pretty poor freeview reception and use sky downstairs. Bought some cable from b&q and chopped it into the old cable from the roof aerial. Previous cable was green where it had been joined so I thought this might help

But I'm getting no chanels and no signal. I don't have a second tv to conect up so was wondering if there was something I can plug n to show if i'm getting a good signal

Or do I just get an aerial guy in?
