Reccomend a mobo for Intel E2160 Socket 775 please
Well my previous mobo was faulty on arrival, and so need a new mobo, I have all the other parts.
The specs so far are:
Intel E2160 2x1.8Ghz
Akasa Black Zen Case
Corsair 1GB DDR2 PC2-5400 675Mhz
256MB Sapphire HD 2400 PRO PCI-E(x16)
Samsung 320GB SATA
The mobo I had is the Abit IP-35E I mgiht go for the same one, but just a little weary. Any other reccomendations, willing to spend upto £70.
I have a new GFX card, which is PCI-E x16 so the mobo needs that.
And just incase this is important, the PC won't be used for gaming. More just a normal home PC, and also video playback (nothing intense though like Blu-Ray/HD-DVD)

Cheers.
Hopefully this time round the mobo won't be faulty!
And can anyone reccomend how I can overclock my E2160. From other palces I hear it is easy to overclock to 3GHz with not much effort/extra cooling?

If you don't need all those features you could just go for the Gigabyte GA-P35-S3L instead which is £60.

and

the second one is aimed @ the DS3/DS4 motherboards from gigabyte but generally is a good point of reference.

Re: Reccomend a mobo for Intel E2160 Socket 775 please
And final question, about the thermal paste thing.
I think there was some attached to my CPU, but since my first mobo was faulty, the paste would have worn-off if you get what I mean.
Is it essential/how important that I buy some more?

Re: Reccomend a mobo for Intel E2160 Socket 775 please
Yep, you do need some.
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=403502
Also dont forget to clean the old stuff off
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=130264
You can pick up the TIM cleaner at Maplins, or some people just use vodka
You may have received some thermal compound with the cooler, although silver compound is better.

Re: Reccomend a mobo for Intel E2160 Socket 775 please
wife's nail varnish remover works well on the end of a cotton bud to remove the old stuff - people moan about leaving small impurites etc but really nothing to worry about - done it tons of times
