How to play DVD-Audio?
System- Oppo 981, coaxial into Lexicon MC-1 V4.
I've borrowed Queen The Game on DVD-Audio. It has 24bit 96khz audio DTS 5.1. When I select the DTS mix the Lexicon displays shows the audio is 48khz. I'm positive the MC-1 supports 96khz audio, but not sure if this is for PCM only, not DTS.
Or will I need to use analogue output? The Lexicon doesn't have 5.1 analogue input.

Re: How to play DVD-Audio?
think in order for you to get the full DVD-A 5:1 mix you need your gear rigged up via anlogue connections.

Re: How to play DVD-Audio?
But it has the following tracks
|Compatibility
DVD-A 5.1 Surrounds 96K 24bit |DVD-Audio
DTS 5.1 Surround 96K 24bit* | DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, DVD ROM
PCM 2.0 Stereo DVD Audio | DVD Video, DVD ROM
* requires DTS capable system
So a av pre-amp should work over digital? It does lock onto DTS, but it doesn't display 96khz. So either DVD player is downsampling, or MC-1 doesn't support 96khz. I have tried 48khz, 96khz and 160khz? in the Oppo RAW digital output setting.

Re: How to play DVD-Audio?
....not sure then....i know with most gear you need analogue connections.. dont know about a pre amp working over digital ...as its a lexicon you might get more joy in the pre amp and power section.

DTS 96k 24bit decoding came in about 5 years ago. It was not part of the original DTS spec so if your Lexicon was built before then the chances are it may just downsample. Lexicon may have provided an upgrade path but you would need to check directly with them as it may not apply to your model.
My own amp had to be upgraded to decode DTS 96/24.
I'm pretty sure that this is one of the sound formats that is only carried over the digital connection so using analogue interconnects would not help you anyway, but happy to be proved wrong on this theory.
