Sony DCR SR70 editing problems.

I recently upgraded to this Sony DCR SR 70 my first HDD camcorder and have had a plethora of problems with its editing ever since.

I bought Ulead 10 for it because the clumsy and near useless imagemixer software that came with it caused significant pauses between clips once the disc was burned and it was rudimentary in the extreme having no active timeline or clip merging facility.

This device appears not to be compatible with windows movie maker either. Having as a consequence splashed out £40 on Ulead 10 I then find that I have VERY significant stutter and framerate issues on the finished disc (though not on previewing my project on the PC). I initially thought something had been set to NTSC but all my defaults are set on PAL and I have a very powerful state of the art PC with all the media bells and whistles required for carefree editing .

Has anyone else had such problems with Sony HDD camcorders and if so how did they get round them ?

Its such a shame because the actual picture quality is great ! Have I bought a £500 lemon .... help !!
