Question DCR-PC104E Audio problem

Gday there, hoping someone can help me out , I have a Sony DCR-PC104E that has been very handy til now but has just recently started recording with a "hissing" sound that can only be likened to blowing or wind on the microphone but that isnt the problem, its happening all the time, indoors and out?!

Is this something that anyone is familiar with, does it mean I should bury my camera or is it potentially repairable?

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads/responds

Cheers
Dora
