Apple TV

Guys is it worth me getting a Apple TV to play xvids over my network ... via HDMI and Optical sound - Will the ATV play them as good as XBMC ???? I know I will need to load some plugins to get ATV to play Xvid or Divx - but does this beauty play them good enough ??? I am not bothered about HD stuff as I have my PS3 and Sky HD ... I just want something small and up to the job to get away fromusing my HTPC and Xbox 1 ???

Can anybody that has one please confirm ...

Thanks in advance
