Audio Problems with Denon 2930 DVD

Hi

I have an audio issue with my Denon 2930 DVD Player. I set it up to run via HDMI cable to my Denon 2307 AV Receiver, and the sound was disapointing, could only get multi-chanel at best. I have now run an optical cable to the AV Receiver, and getting better quality sound, however am still not happy.

Previously I had a Denon 1920 DVD, and the sound through HDMI was fantastic.

Any assistance or advice someone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

In the setup menu for the 2930 did you set HDMI audio to Multi channel Normal?

Also before you do that go to the audio section what is the filter set to?
