I'm looking to upgrade from my Epson R800 photo printer and am looking at getting a A3 size one.(mainly for photos, cards and calendar work)

I realize Epson do a similar printer to the R800 in A3 size (R1800) but I'm looking for one thats cheaper to run if possible.Sure running costs would be even more as the ink cartrdiges aare the same size in the A3 printer.:suicide:

Thanks for any pointers :smashin:

Have a look at the Epson Trade in Website. The Epson Stylus Photo 1400 is £199.0 if you trade in any make of printer working or not fior which you get £100.
Very sorry have just realised that this offer expired several months ago. After BOth a friend and myself obtained ours.

Thanks for pointing this printer out - its within my budget so its one to consider.

Pity about the offer but it appears to be on sale for around £250 anyway from some internet places.

You could also look at the Epson 1290s about £250 from www.play.com delivered. It is now quite an old printer but ours is still going strong after several years hard work and it was a printer that was used as a standard to judge other printers by.
Ours has printed up to a hundred A3 13 page Calenders every year before Christmas plus all the other normal printing the rest of the year.
It is worth you considering. :smashin:

i'll vouch for the 1290 as well very good A3 printer

and as for ink you can get some good deals at svp or disk depot if you not bothered about branded ink like epson

Well after reading pros and cons for Canon, Hp, Epson I have actually decided on the Epson R1800 after all as thought better the devil you know and have some unused ink from the R800 that I can use in the R1800.
I love the glossy look that the R800 printer produces and thought if I switched to another I might regret it.

Just hope I can keep the running costs at arespectable level.

the Canon pro 9500 looks a fine machine but at over £550 I had to rule this one out.
