I am in the process of building a HTPC, and i have just had all my components delivered today from Ebuyer.

However, I noticed that by trying to save space and minimize packaging and delivery costs, they have unboxed the HDD, and DVDRW which were in a jiffy bag?!?!?...

OK - that is all well and good, but, I noticed that I dont have any SATA cables to connect my HDD and DVDRW to the motherboard.

So this has got me thinking.... are my devices supposed to come with all cables? have Ebuyer forgotten to pack them in the hurry to fit it all in one box? or am I wrong in thinking these devices do not come with SATA cables supplied?

You sure they are not OEM products?? These do not normally come in nice packaging and do not come with the cables.

checking the site now it does mention they are OEM...
didnt really know OEM meant it comes in a jiffy bag and no instructions!
hmm... no big deal I guess... just have to wait to buy some SATA cables.

I have no clue to which ones I need... I've only ever used IDE stuff in the past.....any advice on what type I need?

I've seen this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123995/rb/0

with a power adaptor attached

or this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/57659/rb/0
without power adaptor

which ones do I require?

Looking at the western digital website, it shows that you hard drive has connections for the power too, so i think any of those cables should be fine. If you buy the one without the power cable you will have to use the power cables from your PSU.

Hope this helps!!
