I've been watching all of the Dimbelby 'How We Build Britain' series, mostly on BBC HD and must say it's the first time i've been underwhelmed by the HD quality on BBC HD. In fact it's the first time I have seen a HD programme where I cannot tell the difference between it's SD counterpart, as during Wimbledon week it was cancelled on HD so I watched it on SD...and it looked exactly the same.

For a programme that has such a diverse range of material with old & new interiors and exteriors, it was a big HD dissapointment (the programme itself was excellent though).

I only watched the first esp (never got around to watching anymore) and it looked stunning in HD.

i thought that the shots of central London offices looked pretty good, albeit not quite as good as the ITV HD show reels of the same stuff. Maybe a slightly lower bit rate was used.

Yes, it wasn't the best picture quality on BBCHD, quite grainy in some of the darker scenes.

Wimbledon looked pretty good to me.
Try watching The Tour de France on ITV4
