Speedtests aren't that accurate. The proper way to tell would be to visit a site like gamefiles.virginmedia.com and then to download 2 fairly large files at the same time. Make note of their transfer rates and add them together. Voila :).

I'm on 20meg via wireless and max out at 1.7mbps on a single download, but I reach the full 20meg when downloading 2.

:hiya:I live in a flat... the modem is in the next room and I have a cable running through to the pc in the bedroom.. we have 20MB here in Liverpool best I have made tho is 18.??MB anyhoo last week I thought I'd get rid of the trailing cable from the hallway and use my netgear wireless router shock horror all speed tests done with this connected were between  5MB and 9 balancing on average at 7.5MB  So, if you can; connect directly to your modem by cable for the fastest speeds. I believe routers cannot cope/handle speeds over 10MB ATM:thumbsdow

Click on signal (i think) and look at the Bitrate

if its says 10240000 your still on 10

If its 20480000 then u have been boosted to 20

Im still stuck on 10!!!

It doesn't really mean anything anyway. They throttle downloading so the line speed is irrelevant >:E

Some modems have iddues with the 20mb speed. Do a goode on your router/wi-fi point.
