wireless printer

hi, I am thinking of getting a A lexmark X550 wireless printer to use with my wireless network. the thing is will this turn on automatically if i use my laptop in another room are do i have to turn it on at the printer to use it.

Don't know this specific model, normally they they go into standby and "wake on LAN" in this case the wireless LAN.

In other words, they just keep an eye open for packets aimed at them, and wake up.

Best to ask Lexmark or the shop to be sure, then if it doesn't you have good cause to take it back.
