I am looking for a small STB for freeview with twin scarts and RGB. The only one available locally is the new Thomson DTI-1000.
Does anyone have any opinions on it or other suggestions.

The new Nokia 221t has twin scarts.

The DTI-1000 also has two scarts - but I have problems with the VCR when watching TV through the video - the picture lightens and darkens, then gets bad interference. Is this Macrovision? I have Firmware 1.6.
Any help?

It is indeed a symptom of Macrovision. I think this is supposed to be removed with the next software upgrade - but don't hold your breath!
