A DVD which was sent to me by DVDBoxOffice on 28th April 2002 arrived this morning.

I expect it took around 5 days to arrive at my local sorting office and the remainder of the time to get the final 6 miles.

I waited 3 months for one parcel from Canada - it actually got here within 5 days but was held up in customs the rest of the time. Apparently, the whole mail bag was delayed from that particular supplier. That's the longest I've waited.

Did you just assume that it was lost? or did you forget that you ordered it? Did you talk to DVD box office about it and what kind of reaction did you get? Were the Post Office helpful or not?

Sorry for so many questions, i'm just interested what you did just in case it happens to me!

No probs Steve

After the 8 week period that DVDBoxOffice tell you to allow, I contacted them for a replacement. I had to spend a further 2 months sending emails and being fobbed off. They eventually sent a replacement free of charge. Had their customer service been better I would have returned todays disc to them. Instead I have decided to be dishonest and sell it:devil:

Will it still play Ok after all this time. I might buy it from you if it does work OK.

What is it anyway ?

Well, I was worried about it still being fresh after all this time but it seems okay, no bad smells from inside the case.
The good news is that there is no French writing on the cover, so it doesnt really matter what the film is.

The way to tell is to read the "best before date". You'll find it just under the UPC number.

Ahh I see. Well, as the film is Escape from New York, the best before date would be 1984. The same best before date goes for its director also.

Sure it wasn't the follow up "Escape from the Post Office"

hello people, on the subject of dvdboxoffice, how long have you had to wait for orders from them? all my orders have taken at least 2 months, and i've had a dvd-audio disc on order now since june! they don't claim to have sent it and keep sending me notifications that it's still on order. whaddya think, should i give up?

Hi Manny,

I had one order from DVDBoxOffice take about 3.5 weeks from date of placing the order on the Net, to actually receiving the disc in my hands.

I think the average tends to be about 6-8 weeks though.

I can't believe people actually order anything from DVDBoxoffice with these waiting times... after all its not the first time this subject has been brought up on here! I don't care how cheap they are I wouldn't wait 6-8 weeks for anything... not with the excellent, rapid, cheap service offered by the many other reliable internet companies out there.
