I have a Sony DAV S300 DVD and recently bought a SOny KV32FX66 TV. I thought I could hook the sound output from the TV to the DVD player to tap into its surround sound but can't get it to work. Does anyone have any thoughts on how this should be hooked up?
Thanks

Find the analogue outs at the back of the telly and run a phono to phono lead to a spare analogue input (eg. aux) on the DAV (I think it only has one). Select AUX (or whatever) on the DAV.

For better sound, run the phono from a Nicam VCR or Sky box (not from the telly) direct into the DAV, if you own these machines.

I've a DAVS500, and have the phono leads connected from the TV into the DAVS. Also have a digital cable box, will connecting this to the DAVS improve the sound(if possible to connect, can't say I've looked at the connections on the box for a while), and if so, how is this the case?
