What should I buy?

I'm about to buy a new integrated amp/receiver... I'm wondering which one to buy... your advice would be very welcome...

My requirements are... in order of priority...

- Reasonable cost... this is a second system and therefore needs to be under £1000 and preferably under £700.

- I'd really like it to upconvert composite/s-video input signals to component output signalsto simplify connection to a plasma... apart from the £2.5K+ Pioneer AX10 and Denon AVC1xxx I'm not aware of models than can do this.

- Must be able to run with L, C, R speakers only as I won't have surrounds for a while.

I'd consider buying second hand, if I could get component upconversion and switching.

Any recommendations of old or new amps?

Hi

Your best bet is to probably wait for the new Denon 3803. It will have Video Conversion and you can configure it for whatever speakers you have (most AV amps/receivers will let you do this).
