Navman iCN750 or Tom Tom One?

I've narrowed my search down to these 2, which one would I be better off parting my cash for?

I live in the UK if it makes any difference.

tom tom kicks navmans ass i've a tom tom and got my girlfriend a navman for her birthday big mistake it was the f20 she now nicks mine all the time if you read up on both theysound almost identical but the tom tom lets you know things like how far in to your journey you are how many miles to go lots of little things that seem unnecessary but are actually very helpful.
hope this helps
oh by the way i've a tom tom 300 which was the base model at the time i don't think there's anything between them if your staying in britain and don't want to use it as an ipod/video player/handsfree kit.

I have been using the icn 750 unit - very good in my books. Mind you I aint had a shot of a tom tom to compare.

Just so happen to have it up for sale with the T1 traffic unit - my new car has built in sat nav - so hence - it's on Amazon for sale - very good price

How good is the TomTom One at telling you where speed cameras are?

Is it easy to update with the latest speed camera information? How much does it cost to update?

Cheers

your right Dannyboy they are very helpful
Ive got the icn550 (and I love it thanks Mrs Luffy) and that will give you distance to go, ETA etc. haven't seen the 720 but it would seem strange to remove these features but worth checking out.

Updating the camara info is easy used to be free but now charged for via a third party web site I only update mine a couple of times a year and its only a couple of quid for a months access good value if you consider the alternatives

Re: Navman iCN750 or Tom Tom One?

Have owned the original TomTom and it was OK, maps out of the box were atrocious (roads that had been built for a couple of years were not showing). It was fairly trouble free for 18 months then I amnaged to get some water in it which @@@@ed it up and then someone nicked it!
Now have the Navman iCN 750 and I think it's great - maps are nice and clear, voice commands are on the tinny side but acceptable and it gives you all the usual commands. It is also comparatively slim in profile so fits inside your jacket pocket when leaving the car. My biggest bugbear is that it's ETA is wildly optimistic, I usually find I am taking 20 min's more on a two hour journey. You learn to live with this though.

The Navman icn 750 does this as well.
