help with dell monitors 2407 and 3007
Hi,
I have a dell 2407 and just got a samsung 1080p this morning, i am having some issues with 1080p.
On the hdmi input, it will only show 576p, 720p when samsung is set to pal and 480p,730p and 1080p but not 1080i when samsung is set to ntsc.
Having looked at the spec sheet for the dell it seems to only do 1080p at 60hz, am i right in thinking that is correct for ntsc but not pal dvds.
However the monitor still shows a pal dvd correctly when the samsung is set to ntsc. Is the samsung doing a conversion to ntsc and if so do people think it does a good job or I stick to 720p pal?
Also I am wondering what the 3007 does with the various input modes as I haven't seen one in action. Does it show all the various modes but upscales them to the native res of the screen.
I am just testing the 2407 at the moment and I am just wondering what would be the best combo.
Also I have a question about the vga/dvi input. When giving it feed my graphics card 1920x180 at 60hz , it window is too large for the screen and I have to use the mouse to move it all around. 1600x1200 fits ok but I thought the panel was 1920x1080. Is the vga input limited, I will have to try the dvi but I don't have a convertor at the mo.
Any thought are welcome.
