D-Link DSM-750 release date?

HI, does anyone know when the DLINK DSM-750 will be released? Now that Draft 802.11n is being certified, I was hoping a release would follow shortly...

Aren't we all!

But nothing at all recently, last I heard back in Spring was that it would be available "late summer", e.g. September timeframe. I don't know how soon after its release in the US that it will make it over to these shores either

It's September and DSM-750 hasn't been re-announced. It is very unlikely to hit retail this month.

I wonder what snags they've hit with the development?

Does anyone have any juicey gossip on this thing? I've been googling for days and no new information has been forthcoming. The US website still says Pre-order in March.

A bit confused, is this a router? I currently have a N router, with this I could stream video to my TV in the living room from the PC?

"4. Integrated internal or external TV Tuner on your Microsoft Vista Premium or Ultimate OS-based PC is required for utilizing TV and recording features in Windows Media Center. Must also have disk space available on internal or external hard disk drive for recording video. Also requires Internet connection to receive TV scheduling."

So, do I need to save the videos on the DSM-750 hard drive? Or is this streamed from the computer? I don't have a TV tunner on my PC but I have a S-Video out that I use for wired display on my TV, I'm looking to do the same thing without the wires.

I emailed D-Link UK. Here's their reply:

I've just had a look at the US website and they no longer list it as pre-order item for March release. You can actually add it to the basket at $329.99 (5% discount if you try to leave before completing order), but there's no stock. They also don't supply International addresses.

Frankly, I wouldn't bother with this now. The spec is outdated (no 1080p, outdated chipset, etc.) and the price point for its feature spec. now is about a third of what it is advertised for, making it uneconomical to produce.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this product will never actually see the light of day. Clearly D-Link have lost all interest in it; you'd be better off with a PS3!

The competing product from Linksys the DMA2100 has been available in Europe for a month or two. It's tiny, totally silent & works well although is a little pricey.
