Colour me bad

Has someone upped the colour content of broadcast terrestrial TV? Over the last few weeks I've been constantly adjusting the colour on my Bravia LCD because on some programmes people's skin tones were just too red/pink and other things just a little too vibrant. I put this down to the LCD and the fact that I've never really managed to get a totally satisfactory picture on Freeview with it - I especially hate it when programme makers go arty and introduce grain or posterize sequences. However, I've just been watching my old 21in CRT in another room and I haven't touched the settings on that for years, but the colour is the same!

Or am I going mad?

I've put this under Freeview as that's what I watch mostly but it also seems to be the case on standard analogue broadcasts.
