Problems with my Epson R300 printer

I am having problems with my Epson R300 printer. I have just replaced the ink and now 2 of my ink cartridges don't work at all now. I have run 10 test in a row and they still not working. I had problems last time I changed some of my Cartridges but after a few test they where OK. Does any one know what I could do to get the printer working OK.

They are 2 of the inks that I have changed. So they are brand new.

Does anyone have experience of this ( otherwise fine printer) having a problem with paper feed. I'm about to chuck mine in the skip, frankly

Re: Problems with my Epson R300 printer

It might be what happened to me and when I researched it I found out:-

I'm afraid its likely that you haven't used your printer enough. Yes this exists!!!

I had to replace my last Epson Printer because I used it too infrequently. The ink dries up in the very small apilaries. People have taken them apart and cleaned them, with solvents, but its not a job for the faint hearted. It very messy, time consuming and in my case, too much work. I binned an otherwise perfectly, hardly used Printer >:E

Have you been in touch with your local Epson Express Service Centre and what have they said about your problems?
To find your nearest Centre. Just look up Epson Express Service Centre on 'Google'

Re: Problems with my Epson R300 printer

I had a similar problem before but seemed to clear up when I changed the cartridges (and it was being used regular).

It's almost like the printer clogs up but it was the cartridge that had the issue and not the printer.

Best thing as suggested would be to speak to Epson and see what they say.

Re: Problems with my Epson R300 printer

Epsons are know for many issues it's a shame really they are alright printers for first 1-2 years then they always mess up this is one of the main reasons I stay clear of them now and stick with HP they last very long time but problem with HP ink is expensive.

Re: Problems with my Epson R300 printer

I had this problem with mine and dribbled a very very small ammount of video head cleaner type fluid in the head and left it over night ,

I then used ssc service utility from net (search google) and did a mega initialisation clean with that and all has been fine since although I now use ssc to clean heads rather than epson util

Cartridge may be an original as claimed but what ink has it been re-filled with? Another lesson learned! Also remember that all cartridges and the ink they contain all have a limited "Shelf Life" stored under the correct conditions. Only buy from known and trusted Traders.
Or if you are after cheaper makes of cartridges ,again only buy good quality Compatibles filled with a known quality of ink. Most compatible cartridges are made in China or Far east and so is the ink that is put into them. Try and buy from a Manufacturer who actually makes and fills the cartridges with ink that is also made in the EU or Britain. They are still there.
Or to save even more money invest in a C.I.S (Continuous Ink System) which can save you a fortune in the long run.
