TomTom One - Problems Updating The SD Card

When trying to either:-
1. Update tom tom one using tom tom home
2. Create a backup by manually copying TT1 content to a new folder on my PC using 'My Computer'
3. Manually copy files from my PC to TT1 using 'My Computer'
4. Formatting the SD card

I get a read or write error something like 'Delayed write error' and it trashes the SD card forcing me to have to format and reload

I think it could be a problem with my PC, as I can format then copy files fine from my wifes work PC.......can anybody help

Re: TomTom One - Problems Updating The SD Card

I had a similar problem with a TomTom One V2 I bought for a friend at Christmas. The SD card kept getting corrupted and had to reinstall the software several times. I put it down to a TomTom fault until I connected it to my own computer and all worked ok including being able to see the contents of the SD card. The same happened when I connected it to my laptop computer. I realised that the SD card only got corrupted when it was connected to a computer. I knew that both my computers had recently downloaded versions of TomTom home but when I checked my friends computer she had a May 2006 version installed, which probably came on the supplied CD. I dowmloaded the latest version of TomTom Home and the SD card no longer gets corrupted when connected to a computer and I can see the SD card.
