Qosmio G30 Media Center

Hi Everyone, I am a newbie here so please be gentle.

I am a media center junkie having had one now for 2 years, custom built as well.

It works like a charm expect for the hush. Anyway I have now gotten my hands on a Qosmio G30-163 and it is an awesome piece of hardware even if it a year old. Really the most powerful pc I have ever used. So an idea struck. Seeing as it is such a beautiful system, even when closed why not make this my permanent WINXP MCE with the HDMI out to my my Flatscreen. Its more quite than my current MCE and prettier and many more advantages except.....

I know from my Think pad at work which has profiles that you can set the system to be on even if the laptop is closed. Is this possible with the Qosmio so that I can have the system standing in my cabinet and use my TV as the only display?

Please help

Thanks
Erich

Re: Qosmio G30 Media Center

I have a Qosmio G20, which I use as my main pc, connected to an external monitor, and the lid is permanently closed and I never switch it off, so I don't see why not.
