What is the cheapest place for computer components?

As the title says, what is the cheapest place for bits and pieces?

i use ebuyer & scan. very good on their prices.

comparison sites like kelkoo & froogle are pretty good once you have a model number.

Ditto. Although be careful as I've seen recently quite a price difference between the two when it comes to certain types of RAM (with Scan being the cheaper). If in doubt load your basket with identical goods and see whats happens. Scan will also deliver to your work address on your first order which is a bonus.

I have also used linitx.com in the past for several hard to find things. There's also Dabs.com but I've never used them myself

Re: What is the cheapest place for computer components?

I use scan these days as their support is better than most other places I have purchased from in the past. This is enhanced by a support forum at hexus.net with a couple of very helpful guys from scan spending time in there assisting people with problems.

I've found novatech.co.uk and overclock.co.uk to be good as well.

Just used Lambdatek.com for the first time today to order the Toshiba SD-H802a HD-DVD as well as some other parts. They also seem good value.

That's where I got mine from, very impressed.

The rest of my HTPC bits came from a mixture of www.EBuyer.com, www.scan.co.uk, and www.awd-it.com.

All were good apart from AWD, who were a bit backward in coming forwards regarding a query I had with my order, but apart from that they were ok.

HTH.

The above two have been my first port of call when buying PC stuff, however I've also bought quite a few things from play.com recently. For example the Corsair PSU I bought was the cheapest I could find it from play, so maybe it's worth checking if you're not looking for anything too specalist.

Used Ebuyer for years. Always found them to be ok .............and now they have a good return system in place if you read how it works properly.

Prices always good.

Re: What is the cheapest place for computer components?

Ditto ebuyer and scan. Scan mainly as their returns process and customer service is excellent. In my experience Overclockers.co.uk are to be avoided.

Re: What is the cheapest place for computer components?

www.overclockers.co.uk heard a few complaints about them but they've been faultless for me
www.pcnextday.co.uk
www.quitepc.co.uk
www.rlsupplies.co.uk (more because I can go to their store if they've got it in)

Agreed and their memory prices are good.

I use Ebuyer, Scan, OCUK. No problems with any of them.

I bought 2 things from them in January adn vowed never to use them again, so maybe they have improved since. Interesting to hear if those who have good experiences with them have ever tried returning anything under RMA or Sale of Goods.

I can only speak from my experiences. I bought some of that Geil 6400 DDR2 ram when it first came out. It wouldn't run at 800Mhz on my P5B, googled about and others were getting the same problem. OCUK refunded me my money with no hassles or quibbles and also sent me out new corsair RAM.

I have bought memory for 3 pc's from there, 1 graphics card, 1 mobo, case side panel and a few other bits.

I did my returns by the phone.
