shooting into the sun isnt always bad.

Took these with the sun straight ahead and above..really like the way they turned out.I Guess the sun "in yer face" isnt always bad.

Re: shooting into the sun isnt always bad.

That 2nd shot is excellent - a really good silhouette. As long as your lens is good with flare, and the sun is well out of shot, you can get excellent results. Very nice indeed.

Just need to get the horizon level and you're sorted

Re: shooting into the sun isnt always bad.

Hi ya vulkan

Have tried this myslef a couple off times but ended up with nothing as good as this.

The 2nd ones a great shot, made better with the black and white.

Did you use any filters ?

Cheers Holo

Re: shooting into the sun isnt always bad.

It certainly isn't!

Very nice photographs Vulkan mate. They are full of action and I love the contrast - it suits the subject well in my opinion.

Very minor comments: The first could do with the horizon adjusting and even the second very slightly. Borders aren't my thing so I find these a bit thick but maybe they emphasize the contrast of the image - it's your preference that counts though.

Cheers.

Edit: That'll teach me to answer the phone half way through posting - ended up repeating Tobers!

I knew someone would spot that.Id like to think it was artistic licence rather than negligence That caused me to overlook it

Re: shooting into the sun isnt always bad.

Nice shots. Shooting into the sun is definitely not bad - some of my best photos have been backlit.

Re: shooting into the sun isnt always bad.

All the photos are excellent, I have a question though and I apologise already if its the most ridiculous question but Ive only just bought a D80 and lens this week (its my first DSLR).

Do you need to do anything special to get the silouhette-type effect?

Re: shooting into the sun isnt always bad.

Great shots. Lovely high contrast, and nice compositions. I think the second of the the B/W's is my pick.

I won't mention the wonky horizon, as I'm sure you're already on it.

Nice work Alex
