Re: Coots

Hi John

They are great to watch they are always getting up to something.

Funny how the chick start off with a red head and beak, not had a chance to get any chicks the do keep them under wraps quite well.

That last shot of yours is a great action shot.

Cheers Holo

You wouldn't believe how long I spent trying to get a coot diving in mid air shot. The next to last one doesn't really show the movement of the bird although you can see splashes where it's head had entered the water.
I think this one was from the same sequence

I like your fighting shots I've been unlucky with my attempts at coot fighting captures as they've always been too far away from me to get a reasonable sized image.

Re: Coots

Hi John

Its very hard to get them diving in the water like that, think you really need a bit off luck on you side because they are so quick when they do it.

More cootsfrom me. Linked to large images.

Trying to get a good portrait of a coot

More running on water

More fighting

All CC welcome

Re: Coots

Excellent action shots again
To get the diving shots I ended up taking a few hundred photos in one session and ended up with about half a dozen "keepers"
Although this one isn't technically great I was pleased with the action in the shot
