Unhappy Problem w/Sumvision Zengo Media Player

I got this yesterday with a pre-installed 320Gb HDD but cannot get this working. Neither my laptop, my father's laptop nor my desktop will recognise it. The main problem is that when I plug it in via any of my USB ports, the computers will initially pick something up but then I get an error message stating there was a problem with the device/installation and it cannot be recognised. It does not show up on MY Computer nor via Admin Tools>Comp Manage>Storage etc. I thought that, perhaps, it would need formatting but I can't access it to check or to do so, if necessary. All I can see are my HDDs and DVD drives. Under Device Manager, it will show up as either an Unknown Device but cannot be picked up (Troubleshoot is no help). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling these. Occasionally it will also come up under MTP (with a Yellow Exclamation Mark) and a Code 10 error with no drivers found. Again Troubleshoot is no help (it comes up blank on this) and uninstalling and reinstalling is of no use.

If I plug it in to my TV, I get a message stating that No HDD can be found - yet it is locked in the player.

Has anyone any ideas? Or should I just give it up as DOA and try for a refund/exchange? I spent nearly 5 hours on this yesterday!

Re: Problem w/Sumvision Zengo Media Player

I believe your HDD must be FAT32 for the Zengo to work properly.
If you have a way to format your HDD before installing in to the Zengo, it might solve your problems.
Maybe a cheap £5ish external enclosure from ebay will do the job and also be a handy tool to have anyway.
Good luck.

Thanks! I hadn't though about trying that though I'm leery of doing so now as I'm scared of voiding any warranty

Wretched company's Technical Help line is only open 9-5pm (when I'm at work) and is 60p per minute and no replies from their Customer Service either

Well if, when connected to a TV, you get the HDD error message, then it's most probably a faulty unit.
Send it back for a replacement.
