Re: speaker set for about £1500 -2k no floor standers wanted
What sort of speakers does he want?
You say no floorstanding speakers, does that means that standmounters on stands on the floor are also a no go?
Is he looking for speakers to mount on the wall around the screen?
Is he more concerned about how it looks or how it sounds?
What finishes does he want the speakers to be available in?
What are the dimensions of the room they will be used in?
Is this system primarily for movies, or is he looking for high quality music playback also?
Answer all of these questions and I can start to give you some proper recommendations.

Re: speaker set for about £1500 -2k no floor standers wanted
he wants nothing on the floor wall mounted.
how it sounds will probly be most important.
he didnt specify a finish so any i would suspect.
its a big room probly about 15 x25 maybe.
both movies and music playback

If sound quality and looks are important for on-wall speakers I would recommend the B&W FPM range and also the PMC Wafer speakers, both of which are slightly above his stated budget, but if he does want good sound quality these would be good options.

Monitor Audio Radius range are an option for wall mounting, not too expensive either so he can blow the rest on an SVS PB12+ subwoofer for the meaty part
