are portable dvd players with freeview any good

i have seen this

in my hunt for a portable dvd player for when we go camping. is the freeview extra a gimick or doews it actually work.?. infact if anyone has got one of these players is it any good at all?

Have you thought about one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...ctiveda3014-21 then you would not need to cart your DVD's with you when you go camping.

i had done in the past but they were only available from currys and they wouldnt turn the unit on for me so i didnt bother. might take another look now they are from amazon. do you have one?

No I have an AV500, the slightly smaller version with no inbuilt tuner, but with a 60GB HDD. Much easier than carrying a DVD player around with you.

I saw a AV700TV in Dixon's dutyfree just under 12 months ago the PQ looked pretty good.

I have an AV700 (no tv on mine), superb bit of kit, bit wide but plays everything I put on it, great PQ great battery life, don't use it very often but smile every time I do.

If only mine had TV.
