Top gun

My sister was saying at the weekend that this was a film she would like to see in high definition, I personally could do without seeing tom cruise in his pants in hi-def but I had a look for her. I've seen this on a few sites with a release date of the third of september (for both HD DVD and Blu-ray) . Does anyone know if this is a reliable date or do I take it with a pinch of salt as with pirates of the carribean, the island, etc.?
