In eco mode and just above my head when watching I could not really hear the projector when film watching. I didn't measure but would guess it is in teh 20-30db range but the tone is not distracting.

Re: Panasonic PT-AE1000E LCD Projector Review

20 - 30 is a helluva range, dB being logarithmic an' all. My existing projector is supposedly 26dB in low-lamp mode and that's about as noisy as I would ever tollerate. I see the Epson EMP-TW1000 comes in at the same level. How folks can live with anything noisier I don't know, but each to their own.

Regards

Mark

Might you send me your callibration settings Mr Hinton for this projector. I have absolutely no idea how to set it up properly and am presently using cinema 3 . When watching the matrix the other evening I did notice the difference between the black clothing and the edge border of the screen to be disturbingly large !! Nice succint review.

Re: Panasonic PT-AE1000E LCD Projector Review

Great review Phil, thanks for that. I'm going to be looking for a projector fairly soon (some of the transfers on HD DVD and BD deserve to be seen on a wall, not a TV) and was considering this. I've been a little scared away from the idea of an LCD-based projector already though.
