Sat Nav- with lane advice

Hiya

Is there a decent-priced sat nav out there that actually tells you which lane to get in- ie-'bear left' or 'bear right'?

I had a cheap(ish) Medion one, but it didn't tell me which lane to get in, and a t awkward points, such as multi-lane islands, or city driving. It just said 'turn right in 100yards' but I was usually in the far left lane!

(I hope I've explained this ok?!)

Thanks

Re: Sat Nav- with lane advice

Tomtom instructs to "keep left / keep right" in complicated motorway intersections which is helpful - as for advice for innercity commutes I'm not sure that there is the detail/resolution in the mapping software - prehaps someone else knows?

The Garmin units also say "keep right" "keep left" especially on motorways.

If your looking for a device which will instruct you to (for instance) proceed in lane 3 for the approching junction (or similar) i suspect you may be donald ducked.I've owned or used a good selection of sat navs and none have offered this functionality.

Re: Sat Nav- with lane advice

Navigon 6 seems to support lanes showing the correct one to be in if there is a choice. Take a look at their web site:

Re: Sat Nav- with lane advice

I have not yet been in a three way split situation...But a couple of weeks ago in Italy my TT910 definitely told me (as it really speaks things out!) to stay in the right hand lane..Not just keep right or left but specific lane information...

The built-in satnav of our Murano does that as well, but that is not much use I guess unless you want to buy a new car

And yes the Navigon systems do exactly that with picture close ups as well....

Alpine NVE-N099P does that with NVD-Z003 DVD disc. I used it in London a couple of weeks back. Not sure if thats the sort of high quality system you are looking for?
