Re: British Post

Wow - excellent! A plethora of postboxes, and a policeman in the background as well. Must get a Tobers Britishness rating of 8/10 (10/10 being a portrait of the Queen ).

What's the blue one all about? Suppose that was a King George era one?

Re: British Post

Impressive find! Nice one.
It looks like I'm going to have to find the Queen if Tober's rating system is anything to go by!

I agree that this is better than the ones in the 'not valid' forum btw. Great variety of shots you've done in the comp over the few months I've been following

Re: British Post

Fantastic, really like it. However, i'm not sure it stands up to close scrutiny

The policeman was a nice touch though.

Re: British Post

How bizarre! Certainly makes you look twice at the photo...

I would have been inclined to drop the angle of the camera, or make more use of the Helpful bobby in the background maybe - but definately on theme, lovin' your work!

Nelson.

The Blue postboxes are rare George VI airmail box painted in Air Force blue. These letter boxes are located outside Windsor Castle.

I went into Windsor with a image in mind - tall handsome guard dressed in red with one of those tall dark fluffy hats - but the the nice policeman wouldn't let me into the castle unless i paid £20 for a ticket.... So i walked around and ended up behind the castle and to my surprise i saw 'my competition entry'.

So i started clicking away - that's when the policman in the background came out and started watching me....he thought i had gone mad taking photos of a postbox what does he know...the length we go to get an entry in

Great shot Anita. Interesting foreground subjects and the bobby in the background is a perfect final touch.

Very british indeed! The blue postbox is new to me, but then I don't make it to Londonshire very often
