ps3 blue-ray picture quality

Hi Guys. I currently own a 42" Lgpx5d plasma and have bought a ps3 a week ago. I have noticed that when playing a blu-ray film (hdmi lead) the picture in the fore groung is crystal, whilst say if you have alot of sky in the back ground it appears blocky. Is this to do with the quality of my plasma? or the set up? It has made me start looking for a 1080p screen. Would the that improve things?
What is the best 42" 1080p plasma currently available?
Looking forward to your help

P.S. why has lg only got full hd 42" lcd and not plasma??????

Sounds like your plasma, I've not noticed anything with my PS3 playing blu ray movies.
