What size screen at 3 metres
I am looking to get the AX100E, and I just wondered what diagonal size screen I should get for a distance of 3 metres. Is there some sort of ratio between screen size and seating distance for optimal viewing pleasure.
Also, I'm not keen on glass beaded or high gain screens as I've read that to image drops off quite dramatically when you move from the centre. Does anyone know of a high contrast electric screen at a reasonable price, say around £300. I considered the Graywolf but it's high gain puts me off.
I had a browse but can't seem to find anything but I'm sure this must have been asked before.

Re: What size screen at 3 metres
Have a look here http://www.myhometheater.homestead.c...alculator.html I find around the 70 to 80inch size around right. You shouldnt need a high gain screen with the AX100 a gain of around 1.0gain should be fine.

Re: What size screen at 3 metres
Thanks SBowler, had a look and the THX measurement recons
9ft Seating Distance = 80" 16:9 Screen
10ft Seating Distance = 90" 16:9 Screen
Quite a big difference for that extra foot
You recommend 80" for that distance, I have a look around, anyone got any thoughts.

Re: What size screen at 3 metres
hi
I'm 3meters from my screen and using a panasonic ae700 - and my screen is 84inches diagonally - and it's absolutely perfect, especially in hi-def.

Re: What size screen at 3 metres
If you go for a standard Matt White screen and wish to havve an electrical screen, you should perhaps look at the sapphire screen range and also HCSV screens, both these can be found through pricegrabber on this website.

Re: What size screen at 3 metres
I also use AX100 and sit 3.5m away from my screen, which I have at 80" diagonal and its ideal.

Re: What size screen at 3 metres
Just got this myself http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=322420 good value and excellent picture. You have to have strong fingers to tension the screen onto the frame though. The instructions are in german!!!! tension the two vertical sides first as its impossible any other way. As I found out after several infuriating moments, its very fiddley.

Re: What size screen at 3 metres
I recently had the same dilemma (same seating distance) and in the end opted for a 2m wide (90" diagonal?) screen which is perfect imo. I was also considering a 1.8m wide but that would have been too small. Projector`s a Epson TW700 btw.
