Cable Broadband and Airport Extreme Base Station

Hi there.

I was looking at going for cable broadband and was wondering if my Apple Airport Extreme base station would work with it or would I require a new router.

I want to keep my current router if possible as I just bought it (still new..ish but too old to return) and it works great as a Pre-N (need N due to distance issues) router and works well with my Apple TV and Macbook.

Does anyone know if my Airport Extreme would wok with Virgin media's cable broadband service?

Re: Cable Broadband and Airport Extreme Base Station

Hi,

The apple Airport Extreme works perfectly well with VM/NTL cable. I have the PS3 downstairs and the signal was week so I dumped the Buffalo (very good unit by the way) for the Apple Airport. It all working well - except I recently got 'upgraded' to 20Mb - terrible service. I'm now worse off than with my previous 10Mb service. Nothing to do with the Airport Extreme unit though. ... just VM ballsing up again.
