British Railways No 60007

This is my entry for this month, Sir Nigel Gresley one of the more famous british steam locomotives. This was taken at Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors.
Adjustments made are, cropped, sharpened and slight sepia toning to add a little nostalgia.Sky was grey and flat as it had been and still was raining, i got some funny looks with the wife holding an umbrella over me to keep the camera dry.I took this in b&w and colour but decided on the b&w as it gave more impact to the shot.

That's a lovely shot. I'm not really into trains, but it's certainly got a lot of atmosphere about it. I dont know if I could place the train as British specifically, but spotting trains is probably about as British as it gets. I give it a Tobers Britishness Rating of 7/10

Tobers, Thanks for your comments they are most welcome. The Sir Nigel Gresley was built in Doncaster in 1937 by it's British designer Sir Nigel Gresley whom it was named after. It also has British Railways emblazoned on the side of the tender.

It's a nice shot and the processing works quite well. It might have worked better in landscape format, rather than portrait. I think i'd rather see more of the carriages than the tracks.

Re: British Railways No 60007

awesome picture well processed also I agree with Liquid that LS with more carriages in the shot would have added more impact

Well Done
