I have a problem and please someone help me seeing as BT can't.
Whilst playin online games or browsing the web if my house phone rings my connection cuts off!
Also my house phone really quiet.
I've tried different microfilters as suggested from BT.
They have also done a line test and found no faults.
i have an extension lead then attached to that a microfilter with phone and hub connected to that.
Any advice would seriously help a very annoyed gamer.:lease:

Hi
I had this and ?BT were of no help either. so....
Go to your Home Hub control panel. scroll down and your Telephone settings should read as follows:
My telephones
Current settings for the telephones and handsets connected to your BT Home Hub.
Calls to: Will ring: Status: (Green Ticked)
445601340218 BT Hub Phones and Phone socket
My landline None of the Hub Phones
To change this go to teh "Telephones" menu option on the top left of the screen. You need to enter "Admin" as user name and "admin as password to change these settings.
Hope that helps

Have you just started using BT Home hub?
If so do you have a another router? if so plug that in and see if the same happens. Disconnect the Home hub first tho. If it does happen then you know its not the hub or settings but the BT line wiring.
The micro filter should be at the beginning of the extension cable though I can't see why that makes a difference, it makes all my phones ring when its connected to the other end!
Do you use the wireless connection or Ethernet?

Do you have any other phones in the house that are not connect via a microfilter?

i have no other router available i'm gonna try and put micro filter at other end connected to socket rather than at end of etension.
laptop is wireless which is fine it's my PS3 which is connected through ethernet which drops connection when phone rings.
There are no other phones etc connected in house to sockets on;y house phone.
thanks for advice i'll see how i get on

If that extension cable is not an ADSL RJ11 to RJ11 then problems will occur.
You should ONLY connect an RJ11 ADSL cable to the main connection at the wall with a filter connected.........NOT a short ADSL cable (Suppied by BT) and then an extension cable. Also, they recommend a max of 20m ADSL cable......66ft maximum. :smashin:
Hope that helps

PS3??? Try using the Wifi on your PS3. Mine works flawlessly. However when I tried the Ethernet cable, BINGO my hub resets!!!!! I never even thought to use the ethernet cable in the first place.
I have the PC, PSP and PS3 all connected at once via wifi with no probs. My wifes laptop decided to throw a fit with all those connected at once, maybe bandwidth not sure but removing one device was enough to correct the problem
