External aerial on Garmin nuvi 250?

Hi,
Just wondering if you can add an external aerial to a Garmin nuvi 250 or is it never needed- heard that heated screens or UV protected screens can be a problem,
Thanks

If it has an MCX antenna socket then yes.
An aerial will help it pickup satellites quicker, but I'm not sure about your questions about the screen affecting it's reception.

Re: External aerial on Garmin nuvi 250?

No external socket on mine, however it seems to be pretty powerful compared to my old I3.

Best thing if you fancy one, but have a reflective windscreen (in my experience, the "front heated" Ford windscreens are fine, it's more the renault reflectives that can be problematic) is get it from comet online - under distance selling rules, can take it back...
