Set Top Box problems

We have a slight problem which I thought was down to the signla from the loft however I think I can narrow it down a bit but still could do with some help.

Occassionaly our STB would drop the signal and we would get black screen for a second or two. This would happen several times per hour on an intermittent basis.

Tonight I managed to get our home office set up including our paper shredder. I tried it out and hey presto the same problem occurs every time I shred a sheet of paper.

Any suggestions?

Re: Set Tob Box problems

Improve your signal by getting an outside aerial...loft aerials are prone to interference pickup and the signal is attenuated by the roof/building materials.

Re: Set Tob Box problems

Sorry I described our aerial setup wrong.
We have a Sky dish and an external aerial both of which feed into an amplifier distributor box in the loft.

Re: Set Tob Box problems

Make sure the paper shredder motor is suppressed.
Make sure your aerial cables are all fully screened.
