Waterproofing ??

Hi,

having 'lurked' on this part of the forum for a while, and having just done the back garden up, I decided to have a go at building a cheap screen to put outside on a large wall.

The building and making part were fairly easy (2.35m x 1.5m'ish) and cost me about £25 overall (1.5x1.5 inch wood from B&Q and blackout fabric from John Lewis).

Now the question I would like a little help with is........ I was intending leaving the screen up for most of the summer , but as is the British weather, no doubt it will rain. My only 2 options are, some kind of waterproofing or covering it up (which would be a job in itself due to the size.

If I have to go the covering up route, does anybody know where and if it's possible to get that snap frame edging from as I could fix a frame of it around the screen and snap some sort of heavy plastic in it to cover it .

Any ideas

cheers
Andy

Re: Waterproofing ??

Even if you do cover it, you may well get mildew or some other fungus / mould etc. growing on it over time. You might end up with all your films looking like the Matrix

I think I would be inclined to have it attached to a frame with poppers and just roll it up when you're not using it.
