sky buttons and harmony 895!!

iv got sky HD and recently bought the harmony 895.. so far so good but im stuck with trying to get the colour buttons (blue red yellow gree) working on the harmony!

nothing seems to happen wen i press them on the harmony

can any one help ???

Go to the adjust buttons settings and make sure that they have defaulted correctly !?

Think mine went straight in though.

think iv tried.. iv added them with my original remote but to no avail

i had the same problem, you need to go into adjust buttons and make sure that the relevant buttons are setup as mine werent.

iv actually had enuff of my harmony 895 and sold it on the trading forums !

not saying its a waste of time but not my cup of tea i suppose

how come?

I must admit after a week or so i was feeling a little fed up with it a i had quite a few niggles that were doing my head in, things not working quite right etc.

I just sat down one day and spent a couple of hours religiously going through everything ensuring all settings were corect. it now works like a dream and i couldnt be happier. These remotes need a bit of time spent with them to get them working 100% they will work out of the box but not 100% accurately.

i got the remote working fine.. like u said it took some time but i got it working. 90% of the time we watch sky. not play dvds so everyone jumps for the sky remote cos its wat they are used to. u know where are the buttons are etc..

the harmony jus seemed to get in the way. since iv sold it iv purchased a PowerMid ir set up. works thru walls an in cupboard so it does the jobs fine

Just for reference, the coloured buttons are mapped on the device by default, but not on the activity. So for all new 885 and 895 owners, all you have to remember to do is customise the buttons on the Watch TV activity (or whatever you call it) and map the physical colour buttons to the device colour buttons. Easy as pie.

I love my 885 - it's unbelievably easy to use and powerful enough to control all my AV gear. Haven't had to resort to any of the old remote controls once.
