Re: Blood Diamond Blu Ray / pic quality??
I got the Region A and watched it at the weekend, thought the PQ was fantastic, easily up there with the likes of Casino Royale and POTC IMO.
Good film too.

Re: Blood Diamond Blu Ray / pic quality??
When I see oddities in a picture I am never sure whether its the fault of the transfer or the original footage...
Either way, like many discs, the picture isn't perfect, a few scenes showing grain/patterns.

Re: Blood Diamond Blu Ray / pic quality??
I'm also a little worried about this given the negative reviews I've read on PQ.
Tempted to pick it up from Toys R' Us as they have it for £9.99, but I usually only buy those I know have good PQ.
Any more thoughts from those that have seen the Blu-Ray please?
I'll head over before they shut at five if it's going to be worthwhile.
Cheers.

It's strange though as the review from this very site gives the US disc a fairly impressive 8/10 for PQ.

Having read several reviews now, I'm more than a little confused, as comments from both critics and owners alike seem to vary wildly.
That's why I was so interested to hear from a few more owners, especially those for whom PQ is the most important factor, like myself.

Re: Blood Diamond Blu Ray / pic quality??
For £9.99 why not just buy it and decide for yourself ?
If you don't like it you can probably sell it on for that anyway.

I'll probably end up doing that but, as this is a forum, and presumably quite a few own the disc already, I thought I'd ask the question.
EDIT - I did buy it and for those that do it was still labelled at £17.99 at my local store (Altrincham) but went through at £9.99 on the till.
Had a quick scan through several scenes and as an early opinion (which may be revised) the PQ varies from quite good to average compared to other Blu-Rays. I'm waiting for a firmware upgrade on my TV before I watch the movie in full, but that's my initial impressions.

Re: Blood Diamond Blu Ray / pic quality??
I find the PQ to be very very good. Sharp and detailed....with very little grain here and there. Actually while we are at it can anyone please tell me if Black hawk down really is as good as the trailer on the PS store? The trailer uses AVC and not MPEG2 as the released version. I was really amazed by the PQ and wondering if the actual movie is like that...thanks.

I'm not sure how many Blu-Rays you own but from the brief glance I had this one seems to have the worst PQ of those in my small collection of 15 movies.
Mind you I do tend to buy those I've heard have excellent PQ.
I may find this one better on a full watch through but I was surprised at how the quality varied from scene to scene, sometimes fairly sharp, other times pretty soft.
