Angry Harmony 555 Not Responding!

After having my Harmony 555 for all of a week now the thing has stopped responding. When i press any of the buttons on the remote nothing happens!! The backlight wont go on and i cant scroll through the menu

I have tried connecting the remote to the PC and re-installing / updating the remote software and whilst it says it does it succesfully the thing still doesnt work. When connecting to the remote to the PC the backlight does turn on so for some reason the remote has stopped responding to any button presses..

Will be on the phone to logitech later today. Anyone else experienced similar problems?

Re: Harmony 555 Not Responding!

Try to take the battery out for a minute to reset the remote and delete all the configuration from your harmony software and do the new one. Try that, if still any problem, i think phone logitech. Did you change to new battery when you first got it right?
Hope that helps

Re: Harmony 555 Not Responding!

Phoned logitech and get it resolved .

Here is the solution if anyone else has the same problem.

1. Remove Batteries from Remote
2. Restart Remote in safe mode by holding down the power button whilst reinserting the batteries.
3. Controller should now be in safe mode and should display this on its screen
4. Connect remote to PC and login it Harmony Config Software.
5. Select updates link.
6. Should now have two options, update software, update firmware. Select the update firmware option.
7. Once firmware update is complete the remote should be working correctly again.
8. Remember you will need to send across your remote settings again.

Just like to say at this point that this worked for me and if you try it and it doesnt work or makes it worse then i accept no responsibility .
