A little slice of Britain in a foreign land
Didn't think I would come up with anything this month, especially last week as I was in Barcelona. I stumbled upon one of Britains most famous fashion brands while walking around Pl. Catalunya - Burberry. This shot is of one of the window displays which was a large and shiny metalic sphere. I tried to get more of the bag in shot but the reflections started to obscure the Burberry inscription on the sill. Sorry about the handsome fella taking pictures but he just wouldn't move out of the way
Very little processing was done to this. A few level adjustments before converting from Raw and that's about it. I did try to straighten it as I thought it was on the tilt a bit but it didn't seem to help much so I left it as it was. Must have been the way that the display was set up.
Anyway, I hope you like it.....

Re: A little slice of Britain in a foreign land
I like this one as a photo Bowen. It almost looks like a fish eye shot. But it doesn't shout Britishness and is a bit subtle. That's unlike most people who wear Burberry of course!

Re: A little slice of Britain in a foreign land
Thanks Simon. I know it's a bit subtle but the shot I wanted to take was of a few chavs walking out of the store wearing Burberry baseball caps but no luck i'm afraid

Its more British than you think BJ, looks like some chavs have nicked your photo and left a little red x in its place

It's showing ok for me bodoman. If anyone else has a problem, I'll get in touch with zone and re-host it.

Re: A little slice of Britain in a foreign land
Well thats a bit different!
The logo does seem to be a little on the tilt which is unfortunate, it's a great effect though and well taken. Doesn't scream 'Britishness' to me in the usual way but I can see where you are coming from

Re: A little slice of Britain in a foreign land
Agree very different, doesn't screen Britishness until you clock the Burberry logo, good thinking

Re: A little slice of Britain in a foreign land
Excellent photo in its right BJ, very inventive
Sorry to be a bit of a party pooper about the Britishness of it though, as i believe Burberry has now been transferred to China, and from all places `WALES`.

Thanks bodoman.
I know full well the pain and worry that comes with situations like the Burberry one as I went through exactly the same scenario with my previous employers 7 years ago. As much as I hate saying it, companies relocating to other countries seems to be the way of the world nowadays. Sad, very sad

Re: A little slice of Britain in a foreign land
Very good photo. Again doesn't really feel "on theme", but a great shot!
