One remote ??

I*m building a home cinema room and have a vision that a single remote will

1. Switch on and operate my PJ (panny AX 100E)
2. Switch on and operate my Panny S53 DVD player
3. Switch on and operate a sapphire mayfair electric screen
4. Switch on remote 13A sockets
5. switch on a lighting system with dimmer control
6. switch on main room lighting

Now accepting I will have to install remote sockets and light switch, is there a single remote control that will handle all IR/RF activated items ??

Thanks

Re: One remote ??

I have a URC MX-700, it doesn't do RF though. But it can control 20 devices, and have 99 step macro on the device page, plus "goto" shortcuts in the macro.

Re: One remote ??

Newer Pronto models (Euro not US)- Does RF and IR and if you use X10 for lights/dimmers/sockets it will work great without needing extra extenders or IR/RF convertors!!

How is the screen controlled IR or RF?

Re: One remote ??

As your screen is IR I would go for pronto and X10. If you go for the newer X10 modules they have better results when controlling Items. letsautomate.com and simplyautomate.co.uk have really good stocks of X10.

You must only buy the UK/European Pronto. To get RF you need to buy a RU950 (old mono model), RU960 (current mono), RU970 (oldest colour & serial not usb!), RU980 (old colour), RU990 (current colour). or a Marantz RC5200 (old mono & serial), RC5400 (current mono), RC9200 (oldest colour & serial) or RC9500 (current colour). If you can afford the colour versions of any of those go the extra mile and you'll get amazing graphics.

Don't touch the Philips RC9800i it us not very good and doesn't have RF. Also the new Philips TSU9600, although very good, does not do RF.
