Good Choice?

just bought the aparenty only a few week old roksan kandy mk3 amp from superfi. should be with me sometime next week.

i have Acoustic Energy AElite 2 speakers (£450 large standmounts) currently using a sharp all-in-one hifi from dixons, about 4 years old cost £200 with speakers.

eventually i plan to get the matching kandy mk3 cd player and possibly some monitor audio GS20 speakers (depending on wealth)

good choice ?

The Kandy is a great amp, but I wasnt impressed with the kandy cd player. Make sure you audition other players before making a final decision.

I've got the Kandy pairing with some MA S6's and love it.

Got to say though, the sound is most definitely not for everyone. It's clinical, erring on bright, and the MA's don't help.

yes, the Roksan/MA combo isnt the best, its quite nice to listen to in some respects, but overall its a little wearing....

for Roksan you are better off looking at other brands of speaker, preferably those that suit rock music the best, the Roksans partner very well with these speakers, even for other types of music......

normally i wouldnt hesitate to applaud the MA Golds, but in this case i'd be careful, demo them, you may still like the combination as we all enjoy different things, but i reckon you could find a better combo....
