Yeah, go for Play, it's currently showing as 'In stock'. Shame the price has gone up to £13.99 though.

For that price i'd hold tight aswell, definetly not worth an extra ~£10 for a couple of weeks wait

Re: DVE DVD/HDDVD delayed.

I chased it up:

Quote:
Dear Customer

Thank you for contacting us at Amazon.co.uk with your concern.

Firstly, please let me apologise for the delay in dispatching your
order.

I have looked into your order and regret to inform that we have not
yet received this item "Digital Video Essential [HD DVD] [2005]" in
our Fulfilment Centre.

Please accept our sincere apologies that we have not been able to
dispatch your order within the estimated dispatch date. We may need
some additional time to obtain it on behalf of your order.

I hope that you would appreciate that being the retailers we are
totally dependant on our suppliers for the supply, and the latest
information from our suppliers shows that they are facing unexpected
delays in obtaining this item.

We are trying our best to procure it on behalf of your order. I have
also contacted our ordering department to make sure that as soon as
the delayed item is obtained, it is dispatched to you immediately on
a priority basis.

We now expect your order to be dispatched by July 27, 2007 to August
10, 2007.

On the date of dispatch, we will send you an email confirming the
date, contents and method of delivery

We will not charge you for this item until we dispatch it to you.

I hope you'll understand that we do our best to ensure that all of
our customer orders leave our Fulfilment Centre as close as possible
to the availability and delivery estimates that are listed on our
website.

May I assure you that we are trying to procure it from a number of
suppliers and we are not limited to only one supplier for fulfilment
of this item. I am truly sorry that we were not able to fulfill your
expectations for this level of service. I hope that you will honor
us with another opportunity to prove the quality of our service to
you.

Please be assured that we will do everything we can to ensure that
your order is dispatched and delivered as efficiently as possible.
However, if you are unable to wait any longer for this item, may I
suggest that you cancel the order online and it would be worthwhile
seeing if it is available from a third party seller on Amazon.co.uk
Marketplace.

An item being offered for sale by third-party sellers will be
indicated by a blue box marked "More Buying Choices" on the
product's information page.

You could also search our Auctions or zShops sites to see if the
item is on sale there.

Auctions - http://s1.amazon.co.uk/exec/varzea/subst/home/home.html

zShops - http://s1.amazon.co.uk/exec/varzea/s...ome/fixed.html

If you should wish to cancel an item or an order please visit:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/xxxxxxx

Although we certainly cannot make up for the inconvenience caused to
you, we would like to give you a 3.00 GBP gift certificate, for use
toward your next Amazon.co.uk order. This is already redeemed in
your account.

Please note that at this time we do not have the facility for
customers to view their promotional gift certificate balance - it is
only visible at the time you place your order.

When you place a new qualifying order and select your payment method
you will see a message saying "You have £ 3 in gift certificates or
promotional credit available for use toward this purchase. Would you
like to apply it?" Simply check the box alongside if you wish to
apply these funds automatically to the order.

You will be able to see that the value of your promotional gift
certificate has been deducted from the total cost in the order
summary before you submit your order. If the cost of your purchase
exceeds the amount of the gift certificate, you will be prompted to
provide payment card information for the remaining balance. When you
have successfully placed your order, the following message will be
displayed: "Thank you--we have received your order."

Please visit our Help pages and read the “fine print” of your
promotional gift certificate to know the restrictions associated
with it:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/xxxxxxx

I do understand that a promotional gift certificate cannot really
make amends for delay in receiving your item. Please accept it as a
goodwill gesture and apology for adding stress to what should have
been a holiday shopping experience that is easy, secure, and most
importantly, stress-free.

We pride ourselves in being focused on customers like you who make
our company successful. I apologise that your experience with this
order has not been consistent with that philosophy.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to you by this delay.

Thank you again for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.
