basic question

If the viewing distance is barely at or marginally more than just 5m, is a 100 inch screen too much? Am I better off considering say a 65 inch plasma? Cost considerations aside, what is more ideal?

If you're considering a native 1080 PJ then the maximum benefit of this resolution is gained at a viewing distance of around 1.5 screen widths or less (within reason). A 100" screen would not be too much at 5m.
