Sony DAV-S880 & recordable DVD

Anyone know if the Sony DAV-S880 accepts recordable media,if so which formats
Also if it does accept these would it be possible to play MP3 files on DVD the same as it does on CDR/RW

I got my dav on thursday and will make dvd-r up over the weekend and see if it works , and post results but others may have tried if so please post here

Tried with these 2 types of DVD recordables and judging from this DVD-R and DVD+R should be fine too. The spec sheets state that DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW work but has anyone managed to get it to play back MP3s from DVD? I have tried using the 2 RW formats above and it just comes up with cannot read from disc.

I've been happily putting my holiday videos onto DVD-RW format and playing them with no trouble whatsoever.

What brand of DVDs do you use?

I've used Datasafe Media DVD-RW and have no trouble playing them - although I must say that I struggle to delete and re-write them and wonder if a better quality brand might be the answer(although it's probably just me).
